Agora Community Development offers both online and face-to-face integrated training and coaching to workers, volunteers, and committee/board members. Our services span a variety of industries, including government, social, health, environmental, economic, arts, and recreation sectors.

Meet the highly experienced trio behind Agora Community Development: Carmel, Maria, and Bea. With their combined experience in community development and unwavering dedication to social change, they support individuals and communities to achieve their goals.
Enhancing Communities through Learning
At Agora, we offer a range of training options for anyone wanting to learn more about, or enrich their skills in, citizen-led community development. Through small group sessions and online options, you can tailor your learning experience by contacting us to start your journey.
Stream A:
Enable Community
​
Learn how to connect with people with lived experiences and progress their shared concern into small collective public action.
Delivery:
Available both online and face-to-face.
Individual coaching can be provided between each training session.
​
Face to face workshops:
- 3 workshops
- 2 individual coaching sessions.
​
On Line:
- 4 workshops
- 2 individual coaching sessions.
​
Optional extra individual coaching available between sessions.
​
Materials:
Training booklet and literature list will be provided to participants.
​
Capacity:
Limited to a maximum of 12 participants per face-to-face group and 6 participants per online group.

This integrated training and coaching is designed to enable participants to connect with people with lived experiences and work with them to progress their shared concern into small collective public action. Participants will learn how to use the Agora social change framework to stabilise the group and structure the public group's concerns in an organisation to enable change within its locality.

Outcomes:
After completing the Enable Community stream, participants will have the skills to:

Identify people with lived experiences and build a developmental relationship with them.

Enable continued group ownership and development of their collective voice.

Facilitate small collective public action on their shared concern.

Develop the public group's skills, including analysis, to be effective in bringing about social change.
Stream B:
Enable Structural Change​
Strengthen and structure the collective public group to continue its analysis and expand its social change journey.
Delivery:
Available both online and face-to-face.
Individual coaching can be provided between each training session.

- 4 workshops
- 2 individual coaching sessions.

Prerequisites:
Stream A is a prerequisite for Stream B. (Recognition of prior learning may apply.)

This integrated training and coaching is designed to enable participants to strengthen and structure the collective public group to continue its analysis to move forward on the social structural change journey. Participants will learn how to use the Agora social change framework to enhance integrated individual, group, and structural change.

Outcomes:
After completing the Enable Structural Change stream, participants will have the skills to use the Agora social change framework to:

Locate and stabilise the small group’s public voice within an existing organisation or, as an organisation in its own right.

Progress the group’s concerns and actions through the development of structural alliances for change in the wider public domain.

Monitor and strengthen their public voice.
